  1. Using Building Sand Instead of Sharp Sand: Never use soft building sand for floor screeds. Soft sand causes cracking, crumbling, and poor compressive strength. Always specify washed 0-4mm Sharp Sand (Concreting Sand).
  2. Laying Screed Too Thin Over UFH Insulation: Laying a floating sand & cement screed thinner than 65mm over insulation insulation boards causes the screed to flex and crack under foot traffic.
